I would recommend this album both for the devoted HIM’s fans and for the listener who has never heard of them before. “Dark Light” is a great example what the real ‘metal heads’ should avoid, but all the inexperienced musicians should aspire to.
Ultimate Guitar (2006)
Auch “Dark Light”, das neue Album von Ville und Co. klingt eindeutig immer noch nach HIM. Dennoch, das Album ist irgendwie anders. Vielleicht ist “erwachsener und ausgereifter” die richtige Definition für das neue, erstmals komplett in den USA aufgenommene Album. Produktionstechnisch ist das auf allerhöchstem Niveau. In jedem Song sind winzige Schnörkel und Spielereien versteckt, die durch die unglaublich saubere Produktion gut zur Geltung kommen.
